· Deadline for high school seniors graduating in 2013 is February 15, 2013.

· Applications can only be obtained through your High School Guidance Counselor.

· Take your SAT or ACT on a testing date in the fall (January or February dates are too late).

Welcome to the Baumberger Endowment!

The Baumberger Endowment was established in the Last Will and
Testament of Charles Baumberger, Jr. to provide scholarship funds
for education in the basic arts and sciences to Texas’youth. The
Endowment is a private, independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization
guided by specific requirements stated in Mr. Baumberger's Will and
by policies set by the Trustees of the Endowment. Over 2,900
scholarships totaling over $40 million have been awarded since 1979.

Who Should Apply?

Graduating seniors of an accredited (TEA) high school within Bexar County, Texas, who cannot attend college without financial assistance (see Application Information for additional requirements).

When to Apply

Applications are available from your guidance counselor in mid-November. Your application must be received in the Baumberger Office by February 15. Scholarship recipients are notified in May.

About Charles Baumberger, Jr. (1889 - 1968)

Mr. Baumberger was a lifetime resident of San Antonio and a former President of the Board of San Antonio Portland Cement Company. His father was one of the founders of San Antonio Portland Cement Company and one of the organizers of Bexar County National Bank. Charles Baumberger, Jr. and his wife, Gene, had no children. After providing for his wife during her lifetime, Mr. Baumberger stipulated in his Will that the income from his fortune be devoted to the education in the basic arts and sciences of Texas’ youth.
